SPOTLIGHT ARTIST: CHARETTA is a female-fronted alternative rock band from New York City. The members of CHARETTA are Angelina DelCarmen-Vocals, Pablo LaFrossia-Guitar, Chris Fullam-Guitar, Richard Mollo-Bass, and Adonis Sanchez–Drums. Formed in 2007, their powerful live shows and unique musical style have made them a fan favorite in the New York music scene. Their overall sound can be described as groove and bottom-heavy, blending passion and aggression with hook-driven melodies. They have been compared to bands such as Chevelle, Deftones, Evanescence, Dark New Day & Sevendust, yet their style is extremely original and distinct. CHARETTA is currently performing regionally in support of their debut album “Defying The Inevitable”, released in July 2009. The album was produced by Brett Hestla – best known for his work with Dark New Day (vocals), Creed (bass) & Framing Hanley (producer). It is currently available for sale on the band’s website charetta.com, as well as from other music retailers such as CD Baby, Amazon and iTunes. The band has tentative plans to return to the recording studio in early 2011. CHARETTA has performed as a showcase artist at the Florida Music Festival in Orlando, FL and also as an opening act for touring bands such as Saliva, Soil & Smile Empty Soul. They regularly perform at major venues in the New York area such as Gramercy Theater, Highline Ballroom & The Crazy Donkey. Their music video “Runs in the Blood” will be featured in an upcoming independent film release “5th of a Degree” as well as an upcoming episode of The Mun2 Look on Mun2.
